Hello all -

I could really use some help in the PHOTOGRAPHY part of our August wedding.  We have booked a photographer; however, I can't get over his price.  It feels OUTRAGEOUS.  I love what he has said.  I am meeting with him in May; however, it is costing almost as much as the resort (Acqualina) ..... and almost as much as Kosher Catering.  Is it part of our budget - honestly - it kicks us over what we wanted to spend.

His work (Steven Lawson) appears fabulous.  And HE is the one who is doing the wedding.

How much have you paid for photography? 

(no videography - just pictures)

What did your package include?

How much was the total when said and done?

Is $3100 outragous for all day (10 hours) plus all the proofs?

Can you make some recommendations?

Mine is a little more than that ... Engagement session, album, 2 photographers and 8 hours.

Looking for an affordable yet good photographer in South Florida is not an easy task. I searched high and low for a good photographer for an affordable price. I am happy to say that we found an awesomne photographer within our budget andit is  below what you were quoted.

Our package includes:
- All day wedding coverage (yay!)
- Engagement session (no time restriction): In fact, we just had our engagement session and it lasted for 3 hours.
- Album
- 2 photographers
- Printing rights
- Hi-res disc of both engagement session and wedding pictures
- Editing of all our images

@ Danny&Mel2003's - who are you using?

XxMari518xX  - we live in N.VA so we are not getting engagement session.   We get ALL proofs.... and access to thumb drive them/print out for indefinite time.  We do not get an album..... but we can "order" one for I think $400.  He is there at multiple locations - day of - until I give him the go time - until I kick him out.

It depends what you are getting from your photographer. Also where you live and if your photographer has to travel.

We used Palm Beach Photography. LOVED TONYA!!!

I paid 3,500 for my photographer.
-2 Hour Engagemnt shoot
--All photos on CD
--Slide show on their website/Facebook album

Guest Book made of E-shoot photos

-Wedding Day Coverage
--6 hours
--All photos on a CD(s)

our package was $3600 total ...

it includes

unlimited proofs and pictures 

engagement photos

ALLLLLLLLLLLLL day video 

his work is by far absolutely AMAZING .... we had our engagement shoot with him and he is a BLAST to work with 

the way i look at it is ... i didnt mind cutting other things like flowers and whatnot ... but pictures and video are the only memories that you will havefrom the wedding ... its worth the extra money for somoene who you know will do an amazing job

I'm using Poirier Wedding Photography.

for $3k I got engagement pictures w/ CD, 2 large prints, 10 hour coverage for the wedding, the CD of those pictures, and an album.

Natalie B Photography - I'm paying around $1300 Engagement Shoot and Wedding - plus I get all of the proofs, 2 framed pictures of my choice. She's brings 2 people and on the wedding day will start at 4pm until 11pm.

I am going with Steve Lawson myself but he wasnt my first choice because of price as well...i was originally going to go with Onkei Photography out of Miami. They have that same photojournalistic style as Steve's but at a much lower price.   Unfortunately after getting a quote from them they were already booked for my date (It is just a husband and wife team).  They are around $1750 or so and that was going to be all day coverage, unlimited proofs, and an engagement session. 
Because they were booked they refered me to Steve.

Mine was 2500. My wedding was on January 1st.

it included an engagement session, unlimited time on the wedding day, one photographer ( I only had 80 guests so I didnt need 2), three photo albums, 100 prints, the copyright and all the pictures on DVD in high resolution.

I got my albums and prints back last week and they were gorgeous.
