Vacation help, please

H and I will be visiting Miami in October. Any suggestions on things to do. We most likely will not have a rental car and instead be walking, taking the bus and taxis. Beaches, window shopping, and some good Cuban food suggestions are welcome. Is there anything in Miami that is a must see? Thank you so much ladies! It will be great to visit a part of Fla I haven't seen yet.

No worries! Since you will be staying close by to Miami International Airport and not going to rent a car...I suggest taking taxis. Miami's public transportation (at least the bus system) isn't the greatest. If you want to go to the Miami Beach/South Beach area then you wouldn't be too far from where you are staying but just the traffic is pretty bad. I would recommend going to the Coral Gables area and visit Miracle Mile. It's a strip with many shops, bars, and restaurants. If you want to do some outlet shopping then visit Dolphin Mall which you will be very close to and there are lots to do there as well.

My favorite is Las Culebrinas...big portions and yummy. If you go there, order the crema catalana for dessert. However, Tinta y Cafe seems to have really good reviews.
