Motion sickness anyone??

As you all know my wedding and HM is on a week cruise. Everytime FI & I go on a week cruise I get sick on "captain night" so not bad 1 day out of the 7. Which by the way never fails getting sea sick the day of the fancy dinner.
Anyways I due not want to be sea sick not even for one night on my cruise. So I was thinking of getting the patch behind your ear.
Has anyone used this before? Can I still drink?
I rather get the patch then the pills for the motion sickness. But wanted to hear any reviews my fellow knotties may have.
Or any other suggestions.

TIA :)

You can either do the patch or they have these bands you put around your wrist that work pretty well too.  You can drink with them.  I wouldn't do the pills.  GL! Getting so close.

I have used both the patch and pills on cruises.  I prefer the pills because I take half at a time but the patch works also.  It was just uncomfortable for me (especially because I got super sun-BURNT!!!!!!) so my skin didnt like it! I've never used the bracelet thingy though~ Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for your HM!  And you can always use my FI's solution to motion sickness - when he feels the boat rocking - we make it rock a little more.... ;)

I've heard about this but never tried it. Matt gets motion sickness really bad (hence our hesitation to go on a cruise) Maybe read some reviews on it online to get more info?

I've never heard of either, I just thought I needed to butch up. I'll look it up for my possible mini-moon in Disney (we're rollercoaster freaks), the patch sounds interesting.

    Good luck, Arlyn!

I have used the patch countless times when on cruises. I love them. You can drink on them. Its easy and you dont have to worry about taking something. I have also heard of the bracelet and heard it works too. I do know you need a prescription for the patch so you would need to ask you doctor to just write you one and they will no problem.

I have taken the over the counter pills, but the trick is to take them as SOON as u wake up, the pill is supposed to prevent the sea sickness not cure it, so if u wait to take it once u r sick, it wont work!!

I would place them on the night stand so I took them before I even completely woke up!! lol

So I guess it safe to get the patch and drink. That's my big worry. I know if I ask the doctor he is going to say you cant. Thanks for your input.
Adrielegorburu: you had me laughing about rocking the boat with FI. :) rock the boat baby rock the boat!!! lol

I am going to do some research and ask the doc. btw I have seen those wristbands on my last cruise. The only problem it wont look nice with my wedding attire. lol :)

    thanks again ladies.

I have REALLY bad motion sickness. For everything. If you want, email me about it and we can talk.

I get sick on airplanes every time - and unfortunately, I have to fly about 7 times a year (I hate it). The slightest bit of turbulence gets me in the bathroom vomitting and I won't come out. Sometimes I even have problems with the flight attendants b/c I'm such a mess and so sick that I start panicking about where I'm going to vomit :( Sorry if TMI.

On cruises, I've also been sea sick. You need to run to your PCP and get the patch. If you have insurance, it's still a bit pricey ($50) but you use it once every 3 days. I plan to use it on my honeymoon b/c we're flying to San Juan and we're also going on a cruise - so lots of flights and sea time. I hate this and was just talking about it today. I've never met another person who gets motion sickness as bad as I do. Remember NEVER to look out into the ocean while the ship is moving (it's an eye coordination problem).

Pray for me too.  I have a flight tomorrow going to Miami from New York and it's supposed to snow/rain here in NY. This means turbulence and I'm so damn sad about it. I don't want to ruin my bachelorette party night by being sick  :(

Hi!  I get motion sickness too, airplanes i just take bomine, but cruises I use the patch (transdermscop) is the best.  You can drink on them for sure, they are amazing!  Sometimes your mouth will feel a little dry, but thats it.  Have fun on the cruise!
