Escort Card and/or Place Card

I have never been to a wedding with placecards. I have only seen escort cards, which I will be doing. Mine is semi formal.

I'm the same as lgrn - relatively formal, but not so formal as to have placecards.

My wedding is going to be Semi-Formal. I am doing escort cards and the guests will be bringing them with them to their seats. Only because the waitors need to know what food choice they selected. We are not assigning the seats, just the tables. You definitely do not need both. You can have your escort cards double as place cards if you choose to assign seating. That way you save money, cause most people aren't going to save them or even look at them more than once, so no need to have both.

semi-formal and escort cards. I feel like placecards telling people exaclty where to sit would remind me too much of elementry school - memories of the first day of class hopeing youre sitting next to your bff and instead you get the smelly kid with ooze coming out of his ears or something.

Unless it is specified by the venue for food selection purposes, why would you care that A sits next to B and B sits next to C. My aunt does placecard whenever we go to her house for holidays .. and the first thing my mom and I do is switch them around to where we want to sit when she's not looking LOL. We just do it to be obnoxious because my aunt is kookoo
