Silk flowers

I so badly want a real bouqet but had to make budget cuts. Does anyone know of a good silk flower florist? I remember seeing a lady at a bridal fair who made amazing bouqets that were all silk and they felt and looked real. I don't have her card anymore. I only have a month and a half before my wedding.. Thanks!

Re: Silk flowers

  • How many are you planning on doing?  Have you thought about doing either silk or real flowers yourself?  It's really not that hard to do, and doesn't take a lot of time.  I'm not terribly crafty and was able to do it for my friend's wedding.  A silk florist might cost as much as a fresh florist.  Can you change what type of flowers you want to save some money?

I'm a real simple basic person. I'm not huge on fancy flowers. I like the idea of the silk because I can keep it and don't have to worry about paying extra for preserving flowers. I'm considering doing it myself but I haven't found anything at the stores I like. I know the Flower Factory had a lot on Brookpark Rd but they closed. I don't have a whole lot of time. Flowers were the last thing on my mind. I kept forgetting about them.
  • Another place to check that has a large selection of silk flowers is Old Time Pottery in Parma Heights. Good luck!

  • You can get gorgeous and affordable flowers at Trader Joes or Whole Foods.
  • Farah and Nour does fake flowers, but they're the Real Touch flowers so they are pretty indistinguishable from real flowers by either sight or touch.  I really love her work and am hoping to use her for my wedding next year.  I haven't priced her work yet so I can't help you out too much on that front.  I ran into her at the bridal fair at the Q arena as well as one other one (perhaps Michaud's in Strongsville?), just in case she was one you were looking for!

Slym- when you did this where did you get the flowers from. I really want to do this but am afraid its to big of an undertaking. Was it time consuming and  when did you put the boquets together ?

  • Check out Afloral.com my best friend just used them for mine and her boquets, everyone kept commenting on how gorgeous our flowers were, they are pretty inexpensive, only down side is, they were small, so she bought two and put them together to make one, but they were very pretty.
