Need a venue with character! Help!

My fiancé and I are looking for a venue in the Cleveland area ( he is from mentor I am from Strongsville). There will be 180ish guests and we need something affordable. We are trying to stay in the 60-80$ pp for food alcohol and venue, we want a venue with character .... Not your typical wedding hall. Any information would be helpful! I have only been to 1 wedding in my whole life and I am the first one in my family to get married.

What do you mean by character...tell us a little more about you and your FI.  There are lots of places with character :)

Really anything that isn't a regular hall... It can be like a barn with rustic character or Victorian and old character... We are open to anything :) .. We have already seen mooreland mansion (too small) and landerhaven ( we kinda of liked this) and a couple country clubs,,, we haven't fallen in love with anything yet

Hey Becca, it Patrick's cousin Kim. (I'm assuming this is you by your post lol)  It's out of the way but check out my venue in Vermilion.  It would fit your rustic theme considering it's a log cabin/barn.  The gorgeous lake views don't hurt either.  You can bring in any caterer you like so the price pp is up to you and can be as cheap (mine is only about $14) or expensive as you want it too : )http://www.volohio.org/WestViewJan11.jpg

Hi Kim-like the picture in your post above. Do you have a main page for the venue with other pics and more information? Thanks Jaime

Let me know if you have any other questions about it :)

</div><div>Check out Tanglelwood Golf Club in Bainbridge/Chagrin Falls area. Used to be a private club, now it is remodeled.  Pretty views of course also, and I think they can hold up to 200 guets in the one room.</div>

Look at Pine Ridge Country Club.  Beautiful ballroom with multiple rooms (2 bars).  There is even a balcony overlooking the ballroom.  Definitely have very affordable packages.  Prices are as low as $54 per person with everything!  They definitely had the most impressive package out of any other place we looked at.

The nice thing about pine ridge is that it's easy to get to from the freeway, and it's located by several hotels which is nice then for any out of town guests or anyone that doesn't want to have to drive home. I think the Courtyard by Marriott which is right there even offers shuttle service in the area.

When I went to Vermilion-on-the-Lake, I took some pictures for myself that weren't on the website. Here's what I got

Pine ridge sounds great! We went and looked at it and loved it... If the hotel does do shuttles that would be great! Thanks for all your help guys! We are between this and manakiki... I'll let you know what we pick :)

Sun valley in chagrin falls in really nice! They have an outdoor patio with gorgeous grounds, but what sold US on the venue is that there is a free shuttle to the hotel, courtesy of the hotel!! Worth a look :)
