My friend had her reception there 2 months ago and it was better than I had expected. The place from the outside isn't that great, but once inside you forget it's in a mini mall lol. And when they have weddings, they put red velvet rope and a red carpet at the entrance. The decor is modern and they allowed her to bring decorations from home (her grandmother had made from fabric butterflies that she hung on the ceiling. It looked really nice). The food was no big deal, just your regular banquet hall food. I think she got a package that included centerpieces, open bar, DJ, and a sit down dinner for about $2,500 for about 100 people for 4 hours, which is not a bad price considering what other people are spending.
After going to their reception, and because I'm on a super strict budget, I am also thinking about having my reception there because they have the all inclusive package which means no headaches!
Thank you..my package cost double that, but i did get tons of upgrades, and I'm having a 5 hr reception. I'm so happy you found my post. i haven't gotten any reviews and since my wedding is so far away still, i tend to worry. I think the place is a gem and just can't understand why it's not plastered all over this board. Lol..but i sincerely appreciate your response and i can't wait for our wedding there..i hope it will be as fabulous as your friends was!
Awesome, glad I could help! I always passed by the place and thought it was kind of tacky until I actually attended a reception there. I think it's not on the boards because it's not the Hilton on South Beach.. it's a banquet hall in West Kendall haha.
My friend's package was pretty basic but it was a gift form her grandmother (she won the powerball lottery lol) so they didn't mind.
I'm thinking of setting up an appointment with them to go over packages, but once the spring semester is over. When you booked, did they say anything about being busy around your date? I noticed our dates are a month apart-ish, and was wondering.
Actually, no - I think I was the first 2013 reservation they had - but I booked nearly a year ago. I want to say it was in June, if I remember correctly..So, nothing had been overly booked. Many places were asking me to wait to set the date and reserve. They did not.
I understand it's not as glamorous as anything on South Beach..but other banquet halls in the area are a lot more know (Grand Salon, Reception Palace....) So, I just don't see why others don't like it as much as you and I do. Honestly, better for us, lol, because then we get to pay nice amounts and have pretty new locations that not many people have heard of!
I can't wait until the wedding. I still can't believe it is less than a year away!!!
I wasn't too fond of the location of Atlantis Reception Hall but once inside, I loved the look and the way it was modern compared to other locations. The Grandeur Package was $5600 over 2 years ago and from what I was told and promised, included mostly everything. Now 2 years and 2 new owners later, they do not want to honor certain things that were on my original package, even though I have a contract. Since the new owners have gone there, it has been a hassle. To anyone who is having a party there or are planning to, PLEASE make sure to have everything they said written down and signed by both you and them. They WILL say that this and that is included but will somehow forget next time you see or speak to them. Last time we went, they did not want to honor what originally was said concerning the candy table being $125 and rolls royce being included. After a bit of arguiing, I decided it wasn't worth it so I settled for a limo and candy table being about $200. Now my limo is apparently not included which is WRITTEN in the new contract and signed by Alondra. I suggest to every bride and groom to have everything documented and signed. Best of luck to you.
