Boudoir

Is anyone doing or already done a boudoir photo shoot?  Am considering doing one as a gift for my fiance and am looking for great, affordable photographers!

    I had boudoir photos taken by Rachel Linczak in May. I can't say enough good things! Rachel was awesome and the photos turned out great! Can't wait to surprise my FI with them!

    I actually organized a boudoir marathon (5 girls have 1 hour time slots on the same day) through the knot boards and that cut down on costs. I simply posted on the knot boards and asked people interested in doing a boudoir marathon to e-mail me. I got 4 girls interested pretty quickly and we were all given a good discount by Rachel.

    I don't want to pry/come off as rude, but what does something like that typically cost (with or without the marathon discount)?

    The few places I have checked out is about $250 for the actual shoot then a few hundred more for the copies or album...and up to $500 just to get the disk of the prints!  I think that is kind of ridiculous so am hoping to find something more reasonable.

    Starshine: I will tell you the financials, but please keep in mind that my photographer may have raised her proces since I signed a contract in January with her.

    Her normal fee is $250 for the shoot and you have to cover the cost of the hotel room or have her come to your house.

    With the marathon she charged $200 for the shoot, covered the cost of the hotel room, reduced the price of her CD of images and gave all of us a $50 product credit.

    I did not buy an album from my photographer, I only ordered the CD of images from her with my product credit. I then ordered a 12 month calendar from mypublisher.com and used the pictures. It all turned out great!

    I probably could have found someone to do the boudoir shoot for a cheaper amount, but I loved Rachel's style and her extensive experience with photography.

    Besides Rachel, I will also reccomend my wedding photographer, Lindsey Beckwith...her boudoir work is also gorgeous!

    I had them done. Tami Musick did mine and they came out great, but I know that right now her plate is pretty full. If you're interested in having her do them, you'll have a bit of a wait. If you are in a hurry, there are many photogs doing them these days.
