Do you have to send out save the dates?

No, i wouldnt say so. Its just means guests can make plans in advance, its definitely good for if you have a lot of out of town guests. 

We arent doing them.

It's not a required thing to do however, if a good portion of your guests are out of towners then it would be nice to send one off. We didn't send any save the date cards because we have very few OOT guests (only 6 invites where mailed off). There are other ways to get this done you can do them on your own or send save the date card electronically.

Not required. Recommended if you're doing a destination wedding or if you have a lot of out town guests. We did them, but we're destination and people had to make hotel res'.
