bridesmaid dresses

I was thinking about picking the designer, color, length and fabric of the dresses but letting them choose what kind of neckline/straps they would like.  I figure that everybodies body type is different and I want everyone to feel good and confident in what they are wearing.  Does anyone know of a bridal shop that allows you to do this??? and what do you all think of it???

I am doing the same thing with my 5 bridesmaids. They all have different body types so I want them to feel good in their dress. I went to the store I bought my wedding dress from and looked at fabric swatches in person to see which designers carried the exact color I want (peacock teal) then my MOH and I browsed that designer's website to see all of the different styles they offered in that fabric and color. You should be able to do this at any bridal store. I would pick one that has a large selection to get your girls in to actually try them on, like Catan's. Then, depending on where you bought your dress from, you might want to actually order from them if you get a discount on bridesmaid's dresses. For example, I bought my dress from a store that had an offer where if I ordered my dress with them, I get 10% off all of my bridesmaids gowns.

    I hope that helps!

Any of them do this. Just pick a color within a designer's line you like and go from there. I actually did separates from David's for my BM dresses. I selected the skirt style and the color (periwinkle). The girls chose the top style they liked. As it happened, by sheer luck on my part, 2 of my 3 BM chose the same top. The 3rd (MOH) chose a different one. It worked out surprisingly well.

my bridesmaids got the cutest dresses at Something White in Independence!  Very reasonably priced and the owners of the show are younger (late 20s early 30s) very stylish and helpful.
