Marriage License in Florida

Hey ladies, I have read on TK that a valid ID & birth cert. are required for a marriage license.  But I have called the county clerk & they didn't say anything about a birth cert.

I am a non-resident and really do not want to travel with my birth cert. I do have a passport.

Married ladies or those who have gotten their license already, can you shed some light on the requirements.

TIA

Thanks Jillian....does it matter what county I am getting married in?  I believe Key Largo is Monroe County.

Ive heard you only need your driver's license, but bring your passport just in case.

The license is valid in the whole state of Florida, regardless of which county issued it.

Lacey-  thanks, we will have our passports on hand because we are taking a cruise from Miami.

I would think a passport would be fine, because in order to get a passport, you have to have a SS card & birth cert.

Normally you need two forms of acceptable id which means you could bring any combination of things like your passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, drivers licence, alian card etc....

this is from the Monroe County Clerk of Courts website:
    IDENTIFICATION:
Applicant's must provide a valid picture-type ID, with date of birth shown. (Driver's License, passport, student ID Card, Military ID, or Alien Registration Card.) There is no residence or citizenship requirement.
