NWR: Share your beauty secrets/tips for skincare

Soooo...I suffer a lot from breakouts at my age more than I was in high school and it's embarrassing! I know it could be due to so many factors (i.e., diet, stress) but I have never seen my skin this bad and it worries for the day of the wedding.

I have never tired using witch hazel but I heard it works wonders and I hope it does for me!

Any helpful tips for me??

  • I get stress breakouts all the time; so irritating!

I love my Clarisonic! I also have found that being really diligent about taking off your makeup at night and slathering on some moisturizer helps.

Lastly, I use a Tea Tree oil stick from The Body Shop on my breakouts. It seems to help!

  • I also get a facial 2x a year. I guess that may help too, lol.

  • I recently started doing the Oil Cleansing Method. I use a mixture of castor oil, almond oil and coconut oil. You rub it on your face and then steam a towel over your face then wipe it off. It has really helped.

I also got bad sunburn on my back over the weekend and it's in the dry, peeling/itchy stage now so I put the oil all over my back then scrubbed it and my skin is really soft now.

  • Thanks ladies! I will try your suggestions!

I have heard great things about using Tea tree oil!
  • Best thing you can do is use a GENTLE sulfate-free cleanser (most acne washes are harsh and just stimulate more oil production to compensate for the fact that they dry out your skin). Follow up with an oil-free moisturizer for daytime/something heaver for nighttime, and use a salicylic acid lotion once or twice a day. I love Paula's Choice 2% BHA lotion. Helps keep pimples at bay and allows any newly formed ones to heal MUCH faster. HTH!
