When Dean and I got engaged 5 years ago, we started planning a zombie reception, but because of money and health insurance the wedding plans have waited.
Then 2 months ago we started planning again and set a date for July 8th, 2011. My tastes are a bit more refined, but I still love zombies. This planning is a little rushed and we went with a black an purple theme, but now I am trying to add zombies into the wedding without going cheesy.
We have the wedding at a very nice German Brewhaus. The round tables with have black table clothes and black napkins with small orchids folded into the napkins.
The centerpieces are large round vases with purple orchids, lights and water in them.
We will have purple uplighting around the room.
My bouquet is dark purple, red and black.
My wedding dress is a southern belle style, reddish-purple dress with a black veil and (at this point) 6inch black vinyl stiletto heels.
I love what we have, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it isn't dark enough for me. I also want to incorportate zombies into it without it being too cheesy.
The wedding cake is a 3 tiered, round vibrant red cake with black ribbon along the bottom. It will have black roses cascading down the side. Also it will have cute little chubby skulls with crossbones, half with purple bows and half with little tophats. Also our cake toppers are a skeleton bride and groom from New Orleans.
