    julybm, do you live in Long Beach?  I'm in Ventura County, and don't know how well they would ship.  Whadda ya think?   Also, to answer your dahlia question, I think that they do best when planted in the ground, not pots.  It also helps not to water them much until they start growing on their own. Our internet problems are driving me crazy... I can't wait until it's fixed next week!!!
