Cakes by Maria and Joe.  Yummy cake and VERY reasonable. She was working out of her house - but I think she is moving into a storefront soon.  She is out of Timberlake (Eastlake, OH).   They used to own Willoughby Bakery and her husband was trained at Hough Bakery (if any of those bakeries sound familiar).

    Hope that helps!

I had a very bad experience with Kathy's Cakes so I would not recommend her.  My wedding cake looked nothing like the photo I sent her, my groom's cake looked awful--like an amateur did it and it didn't have the right filling, she was late delivering, etc.   The cake was delicious, but I really question if the work on her website is hers.  Yes, it was that bad.

I am getting my  cake (and groom's cake) done by Phyllis Lester.  The Club at Key Center downtown highly recommended her.  Her cakes are gorgeous and tastey! (I went to a cake testing awhile back)

Have you tried Flour Girl?  I took a cake class from Bridget (owner) at the Viking Store and she does really nice work.
