Local Honeymoon?

Where could I go for local honeymoon?the wedding will be taking up most of the funds so we thought we'd do something nearby for the weekend after.  my DH does not drink...so he's not interested in wine country.Any suggestions, besides Palm Springs(DH didn't like that idea either) Is it possible to have a nice honeymoon in the Los Angeles area?  We live here...seems like we've done it all and everything would be boring.  Maybe San Diego?  I'm all out of ideas for stay at home honeymoon. If you have any, please share.

I would suggest Santa Barbara!  That's about an hour and half drive or so from LA.  The beaches are beautiful, there are plenty of things to do and see, and great places to dine.  There are hotels that fit almost any budget too.  We got married there and because we paid for our own wedding too, we just stayed in the area for our honeymoon.  You can e-mail me at knottie name @ aol dot com if you have any questions or need more info.

My friends did one of those 3-4 cruises that laves round-trip out of LA.  I think it goes to Encinada, Mexico, and Catalina.  It wasn't too costly and they felt that they got to get away.

If you didn't want to do a whole cruise, you could also just sail to Catalina and hang out there for a few days.

I agree about the Ensenada cruise. Since he doesn't drink, you'll save a lot of money!

Catalina. It's a great little romantic get away. You could hang out at the Decanso beach club, go kayaking, snorkeling behind the casino, horseback riding, hiking. If you are not an outdoorsy kind of person it's probably not the place (unless you plan on spending all your time in your hotel room. wink wink) but I think it is perfect.

Monterey/Carmel/Big Sur is a very romantic place to visit, imo.
