Time off before the wedding

Hi girls, Just wondering how many days you took off or plan to take off before the wedding. I need to schedule the time off now and was thinking of taking three days (wed, thurs, fri) for any last minute things. Is this enough or too much? Thanks in advance, Mariah

I kind of want to take the entire month of March off. Wedding is march 13th. But I think three full days (wed to fri for my saturday wedding) and half-days monday and tuesday out to be enough. Need to get waxed and polished and facialed and whatnot, and all that stuff takes time. Also need to make final confirmations and dont want to do it on company time. The rehearsal on Friday w/ the rehearsal dinner that we're hosting, and there are some out of town guests to entertain that FI hasn't seen in years.

I think that should be fine! I'm only taking the Thursday and Friday before...but if I'd had enough vacation time, I would have taken Wednesday too. I'm using the bulk of my time off for the honeymoon!

I'm asking work to give me an extra week of vacation in lieu of the shower they would probably throw me. We'll see what they say. If not, I'll take time off unpaid, 'cause I want a real honeymoon!

I'm taking off the Wed, Thurs. & Fri. before, but I'm also not getting married until Sunday, so I'll have an extra day.  And then afterwards, I'm off for almost another two weeks for the honeymoon.Phiaska- my work bargained with me, which I why I was able to get some more time off.  I saved up all of my furlough days, so good luck to you.  Hopefully they will work with you too!

I'm taking off next Tuesday - Friday.  It seemed like plenty when I planned for it, but now I wish I was taking off more! I think it depends on what you will be doing beforehand. I was hoping to relax, nap, rest, etc.  But, it turns out we have family and close friends coming in on Wednesday, so now all of my free time is completely booked through the wedding!  I wish I had a little more time to myself.  I think FI and I are going to have to make sure we make some, or we will be exhausted before the wedding even happens!

I took Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off before our Saturday wedding. It was just right for me given that my OOT family came in Friday night. I used those days to run last minute errands, and Friday was my pampering/Rehearsal day. HTH!

I think I will be taking off Thursday & Friday off before the wedding, so that I have more days with fi on Honeymoon. I hope that works out though.

My wedding was on a Saturday in Santa Barbara.  I took off Thursday, and Friday (drove up to SB on Friday- which was the rehearsal day).  I should have taken off one more day, but it wasn't possible with work.  I had my last hair and makeup trial and was up really late on Thursday trying to do last minute things that I either forgot about or took way longer than I expected.

I'm taking the week off before, but I live in NorCal with the wedding down hear...and my company gives an extra week of vacation when you get married. Good luck

uscppg: Nice! I think mine will too. They love me. It's a little scary how much they love me these days. I think when I tell them "You know how there's a month called March next year? Yeah, you won't be seeing me for any of it..." they might just giggle and say "Okay!"

Thanks for the feedback! I put in the request for Wed-Fri before the wedding and two weeks after for the honeymoon. Considering Oct-Mar is busy season for me I am going to have to get it "approved". Since it is at the start of busy season I am hoping it will not be a problem. I hope all works out!

I'm planning on taking wed-fri off and then a few days after the wedding. FI doesn't get his 2 weeks vacation until August, so we are waiting till then to take the honeymoon. phiaska - you mentioned a facial, make sure to get that a few weeks before the wedding, my friend had a facial a few days before and said she broke out a lot afterward.
