When I hired him in Feb 08, he charged more by the event, than by the actual hour. He got there way early to set up and do a sound check to make sure everything was good to go. Probably 3 or 4pm until midnight. My pricing may be old by now so I'll let more recent brides answer that question.I believe that he does do lighting but it wasn't in our budget =(http://calsounds.com/

Tom Chandler is awesome!  He just did our wedding.  He comes early to set up, he even coordinated a few things with the officiant last minute before the guests arrived.  HE is low key and fun and he will play whatever kind of music you request!  My understanding is he has a standard price and then maybe adds more for a second set up (ceremony or cocktail hour location), my uote is probably old as well so I'd just call or email him to get a quote.

I booked Tom Chandler for our May 2010 wedding.  He was the only DJ we met with and we booked him immediately based on all the Knottie recommendations!  I also believe he charges by the event.  He quoted us approx. 1100$ (I dont have the paperwork in front of me) including a set-up for our outdoor ceremony, plus maybe an additional 200$ or so if we need additional speakers for our giant venue.  He told us that his company doesnt specifically do lighting besides the basic dancefloor lights he brings but could hire out someone if we wanted.  We opted to hire our own company for uplighting (probably after dark ent. since I heard they have the cheapest uplights at about 25$ a piece.)

Hi there We used Tom Chandler for our wedding, his prices were good and he was great to meet with prior to the wedding. One advice I can tell you - give yourself some leway in the timeline - I wish someone would have told me this - I had the timeline.. like 9:30 cake cutting, 9:40 bouquet toss, 9:50 garter, etc. i used it based off of a timeline the venue gave me.. and he was a STICKLER for the exact timeline. It kind of upset me. He snapped at us to get out to cut the cake - cause i could not find my groom right at that second. The cake cutting was rushed, we were still feeding each other cake and he changed the music and started calling people out to the dancefloor for the bouquet toss.. it was so so rushed. I was very dissapointed in that. If you have a timeline maybe just let him know it doesn't have to be to the exact minute.. I wish somone would have mentioned that to me. Other than that he was great!
