Help--Can lace be fixed?

Ok...I am an idiot. I was seeing if I could fit in my wedding dress yet and I accidently stepped on the lace and now I have a TEAR IN THE LACE!!!! Ah, I am going to cry. Can lace be fixed? Can you order new lace? Is is really expensive?????? Help.

    It depends on the type of lace and how big the tear is.  If it's the type of lace that was sewn onto a tulle base, you could get away sewing in a small piece of tulle under neath the tear and make the stiches look like they are part of the lace.I would take it to a seamstress and see what they can do with it.  They will know how to best handle the situation.

    I'm sure a seamstress would be able to fix it or at least tell you if you should just buy new lace. If you need to buy new lace, you won't have a problem finding all kinds of lace at good prices at the downtown garment district.
