NWR- We're Buying A House-Help Needed

Hello Ladies,

FI just got a promotion in Northridge and I work in Anaheim. We are looking for something in between our jobs thats near a freeway. But we know nothing about the LA areas. We've heard good things about a few areas, but what do you ladies suggest?

TIA

Sherman Oaks is a nice area and it's right next to the 101 and 405 freeways.

I agree with Jagore  Sherman Oaks is very nice!

Not sure what your budget is but Encino is VERY nice as well...VERY close to the 405 and 101 FWY's

Sherman Oaks is nice but really far away from Anaheim.  I think your commute would be pretty tough.  Maybe you should consider Hollywood around Franklin and Gower area????  Good Luck!

NOT Sherman Oaks or the Valley, perios. Your commute would easily be 2.5 hours each way. Your FI's would be about 30 minutes, tops.

I'd probably recommend downtown LA if you're into that vibe (I personally love it and would live there if I worked closer), or maybe Koreatown/Miracle Mile. Or Echo Park. All are close to the 101, which your FI can take (to the 405) for about a 45 minute-1 hour commute for him. And yours would probably be about 1.5 hours.

But seriously, ugh. If I were you I'd start looking for another job. I commuted from Long Beach to Van Nuys once. It was 1.5 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

Actually, if possibly, I would suggest that YOU take metrorail. One of my coworkers does that (we work in Sherman Oaks and he lives in southern Orange County). It's still 2 hours for him, but at least he has his book and laptop on the train.
