Hi ladies,
So get this...This past weekend was my bachelorette (so fun) so I didn't use my debit card on Saturday, and yesterday I stayed in bed all day.  (can you say hungover???)  So last night I started feeling really stressed but I didn't know why.  I kept telling FI that I could feel that something was very wrong.  I couldn't place what was wrong but I could just feel it.  I hardly slept bc I couldn't relax.  could it be that and earthquake was coming?  Maybe one of my vendors was going to cancel?  One of my friends was hurt?  I didn't know what was wrong!
   
So I get a call from Wells Fargo this morning because they have noticed "unfamilliar activity" on my debit card.  Um, I havent used my card so I start feeling sick to my stomach... 

Someone cleared out my bank account!!!!!

I bought my BM gifts on Old Navy.com and I guess somewhere in the process it was an insecure connection and my card number and 3 didget security code were stolen.  I had no idea!
Goodbye wedding and honeymoon money.  Luckily I was able to file a claim right away and it looks like I will have the money back within 10 days.  My wedding is in 12. Stress!!!!
Now my FI is frreaked out by my 6th sense.  At least it was just money and not an earthquake, right?

    OMG!  Thank goodness you're going to get your money back before the wedding!  I usually have all my money in my savings account and only transfer ~$50 for spending money to my checking.  Maybe you should set something like this up in the future.

    Wow that's terrible, good thing the bank caught it! Just what you need right before the wedding, ugh!

    Wow that happened to me many years ago too - it is the weirdest thing.  I hope you get all your money back before 10 days.

    Girls, the same thing happen to me 2 yrs ago. Because I'm a victim of identify theft I have HUGE lock down with credit cards and debit cards. When the bank feels something fishy is happening they call me day or night! 

    So 2yrs ago I was at home surfing the web when my bank called me and asked if I was shopping at Walmart I was like "NO" she was like someone just bought $800 worth of merchandise at Walmart in Louisiana. She cancelled the card immediately, uhmmm I'm in Cali. Put the request in to get my $ back (since the authorization had gone through) I had my $ back in less than 10 days.

    The bank said to NEVER use your debit cards at gas stations because people put chips and save all your credit card or debit card info and then MAKE (key word) credit cards with your # but with their names so just in case they are asked to see ID, but the $ is coming out YOUR bank acct. I use to do that ALL the time.  At least those were the warnings they gave me. So far I've been cool no more scares (knock on wood)

    It's a crazy world with NASTY people!Yell

    OH, LNC!  I'm so sorry!  The timing of this is crazy!  Well, hopefully all goes well and you get all the moola returned!  It's so scary what can happen out there.  I love shopping online, but yeah, stories like this make you think twice!

    GL & it will be hard, but try to relax and enjoy your last 2 weeks before you're a married woman!!!

    So sorry this happened to you, I really hope you get your money back...actually I'm pretty sure you will get your $$ back before the wedding.  Don't stress it's going to be ok. GL
