Any other non-crafty brides? vent? suggestions/help?

Hi Ladies,
So I have been more of a lurker on the board and other websites these last few months due to my hectic end of the school yr work schedule.  ANYWHO as I was lurking around. I seem to see all these cute little details in pictures and I am a bit jealous. Tongue out
I am not the crafty girl so seeing these lil details makes me a bit apprehensive about how our wedding will look. So far I will have programs for the reception, cute favor tags, I'm making table numbers, and THATS IT! I have two months to get creative.
Just wondering if there are any other NON- Crafty brides out there?  Or if there are any suggestions for simple crafts I could do?

I am NOT crafty at all!  I did absolutely no DIY for my wedding and I still think it came out beautiful (it might have helped that I had a beautiful location to start out with).  I understand your jealousy though.  I went through the same thing when I was planning.  If you want to do something, check out the DIY board.  Those girls on there are pretty amazing and can give you step by step directions.

I don't consider myself a CRAFTY bride at all Cry

I feel ya...I see all these knotties bio's and you are like awww I want that ...oh how purty etc etc...

But I think thats my motivated me to just pick up the courage and just do it. Now, when I decided to do that I made this HUGE list of DIY projects...which I would say half aren't even done (which reminds me to get my butt moving)

I'm not sure what exact details you are looking to get at your wedding, but when I was reading blogs I mean the most simplest things come out to be amazing. Like for your ceremony you can have reserved signs and they are a breeze to make and then print bam you are done!

It seems like you have done some DIY...if you want I could help you with some stuff just let let me knowWink

I'm not crafty at all, but i figured out a couple things.  Like, our favors were these special blended pepper mixes that hubby makes - I call it "magic pepper".  We bought the pepper and the grinders in bulk, mixed it in a huge bucket in our kitchen and II made tags for it out of avery business cards using a color printer and a heart-shaped hole punch.  That's about the only DIY I did....

I am not crafty and I do not have the time to be.  Don't be jealous of the DIY girls...it is time consuming and some DIY does not look that great in person (especially not by me). PS sometimes it is less expensive to just buy a product already complete!

Yeah, PP brings up a good point- sometimes it is actually cheaper to have someone else do it! Especially if it's not your thing and would take many many hours of struggling.

I felt that way about invitations. I know some girls design fabulous programs, invites, etc, but knowing me, I would spend countless hours on them, only for them to not look great. You have to put a value on your own time, at some point. I decided to pay a graphic designer and haven't looked back!

But I am doing some aspects myself, that even I can't mess up...for example, assembling the fan programs, and also tying ribbon to them. My graphic designer can do those things for 50 cents per thing, per program- but ribbons and gluing, I can do...and save $100.

So I think it's all about picking your "battles"!

I am soooooo NOT crafty! I totally understand the jealousy because I am sooo felling that right now.  My fiance always tells me that it's cheaper to just buy at times when you count your time into it.
