Vacuums & carpet cleaners!!

What vacuum do you have? Do you love it or hate it?  Or what vacuum did you register for & why??

Also, if you have a carpet cleaner, which one do you have?  Do you like it??  Or do you recommend something else??

We have a super old Kirby that my parents (now divorced) got when they got married... in 1985! Still works but it's very heavy and loud. I'd love a Dyson, my mom also swears by the Animal.

I have a cheap bissell from walmart - it does the job.

I always borrow my mom's carpet cleaner - it's nice - but I don't know the brand. I'm helpful, right?

I HATE ours, it's dirt devil and we thought we were making a "huge" and smart purchase when we got that one, about $200 or something.

It doesn't pick up dog hair, so we registered for dyson, praying it will do the job with dog hair.

Pet owners- any recommendations?

I have a dyson dc 14 and I love it. I have 3 cats and a lot of hair and its no problem for my dyson. Plus its a canister so no bags which is a bonus for me! They are expensive but totally worth it...we bought ours during black friday online at kohls.

For my carpet cleaner we just have the Bissel green machine, and its GREAT for pet stains or small areas but unless you have a great back and knees I wouldn't recommend cleaning a large area with it lol

We have the Dyson DC23 motorhead Animal... LOOOVE it!
For carpet cleaners we have a ProHeat 2X Pet by Bissell and I love it as well.

Um right now I have a hammydown (sp) from my mom that only has 3 working wheels so I have to carry the main part in my hand while I vaccum with the other.  We were going to register for the dyson but then my mom told me she is not in love with hers and they are so expensive!!

I saw an episode on the today show with top vaccum cleaners and this was one of them so we register for one a little bit cheaper.

awesome! thanks so much!!  I'm going to look into these   I don't know if I can justify spending so much on a vacuum even though I know they'll last a long time...we'll see FI is into researching the big stuff, so we'll see!
