Downtown Flower Distric

I was wondering if anyone has used it for a large purchase? We're getting our flowers from there. =) Anyone else is using them?

I am using a florist that has their place downtown. They gave me the best prices and service has been good so far. Hopefully all goes well.

How long do they stay fresh? We're going to buy them early Friday morning so we can start making the bouquets, centerpieces, etc. So on Saturday morning we'll start putting everything together, do you think they'll last???

Oh and it's located in downtown LA, this link shows you where it's located

We bought ours early Saturday morning and arranged everything on Saturday for my Sunday wedding.

I'll try to look up the name of the place I bought my flowers from when I get home.

Yes they should be fine, for my sisters wedding she did them friday about noon-4, and kept them in water in a dark room, and then on saturday about 4:00 they looked great for the wedding. keep them in water.

Try going down to the flower district before you are actually planning on buying so you know what to expect on the day you do buy,. you dont want to waste time walking around with fresh flowers. or google pictures of the flower district so you know exactly what it will be like. it can be overwhelming, there are tons of places to buy the flowers, not one right or wrong place... they should all be competively priced.

Now that I think about it, my mom bought the flowers in LA and drove them up to Santa Barbara (100 miles away) and prepped them there. Just make sure you dont leave them in the car too long.

@ chinchilla2284 I am interested in using a florist at the flower district as well. I
would appreciate any recommendations or reviews of the florists. Which florist have you been working with?

    Thanks

As long as you keep  everything in water during the day and overnight you will have no problems with them not lasting. Make sure to check the bottom of the flowers before you purchase at the market. I was there today and one of the vendors pulled up a bunch of cali lilies that were rotten at the bottom and they wanted $9 a bunch which is not a great price to begin with for a bunch of cali lilies.

Another option to keep your bouquet fresh is to refrigerate your bouquet overnight. Take it out a few hours before you start taking pictures so the blooms can open in the heat for perfect pictures.

    Good luck!
