Kid Meal Invitation Insert?

Hi ladies,
I've been kind of MIA lately, tons of things to get done for the wedding!

We are getting ready to send our invitations in the first week of May, but I realized I haven't thought much about the kids' meals.

On our reply card, guests are asked to initial by their meal choice (fish, chicken, veggie). There is no mention of a kid meal.  The cards are already printed, so no changing that!

I would like parents to know that there is a kid meal, though...so they don't initial by an adult meal for their child. And also just so they don't worry that their kids won't like what is offered (our meals are fancy, but kids get chicken fingers!).

How did any of you guys handle this? My mom thinks I should type up a seperate insert and just put it in the envelopes of parents with young kids. But what would I say on it? Just that a kid meal will be offered? Or should they have to do anything, like write something on the reply card, for how many they want, etc?

Thanks in advance!

I called or emailed the parents on my list and told them a kids meal was available.  For the vegetarians, i wrote in pencil on the card, "Veggie option available!"

I think phiaska made a GREAT point! Contact the parents and let them know. I would say via email.

    OR

Do you have a wedding website? You just also say something there.

    HTH!

Thanks, those are good points. I didn't even think about contacting them outside of the invitations, but that seems like it would be easier than trying to mess with an insert.

Totally.  Facebook helped a lot, too.  Got a good chunk of RSVPs via facebook emails!
