Affordable Venues in Santa Barbara?

I'm getting married Sept of 2011 in Santa Barbara. We are planning to move out to LA in the next 6 months, but I'm hoping to book a venue before then, which means I might not be able to visit the locations. My F and I would like to get married at a resort overlooking the water, and would like to have all the other events there. We're hoping to have our family stay there as well. Are there any affordable resorts that have this view and can stay within a 20,000-25,000 budget??

Thanks!

Look into the Canary Hotel.  I went to a wedding there (just the reception) and it was beautiful.  There was another knottie on here that had both her ceremony and reception there.  Her pictures were beautiful.  The location is on their rooftop deck.  It doesn't really overlook the ocean but it does have great views.

Thanks! I just looked at the Canary. It's a beautiful place, but I'd love to be just over the water. I'll still look into it though! It seems like an amazing place.

Look into the Fess Parker Doubletree. I've heard great reviews.

I'd look into the Fess Parker Doubletree too!  I got married there Aug 2008 and can't speak highly enough about the resort and the staff we got to work with....and the food! :)  We got married in the outdoor Plaza Del Sol with a cocktail hour up on the rotunda and then the reception was held back down in the Plaza.  Our wedding budget was close to what you're trying to stay in so I know it's possible.  If you are open to having your wedding on a Friday or Sunday, that can help to to cut costs there as the food minimum is lower for those days.  We opted for a Friday wedding and it all worked out.  The resort is right across from the beach and literally serves as your backdrop for your wedding.  They also have a room with 180 degree beach views and plenty of ballrooms inside but we opted for a completely outdoor wedding.  Hope that helps!  If you have any questions or want vendor reviews you can PM me here or contact me at mrs.btobe at yahoo dot com.  Good luck!

Definitely look into the Fess Parker Double Tree. We're getting married there next August. They're surprisingly affordable and the space is GORGEOUS! We saw it and absolutely fell in love. Best of luck!
