When you get down on one knee and pull the ring out of the box, you instantly begin to think…location, especially in Los Angeles. My, now, wife and I knew that even with a year, time was of the essence in finding a place we could call our own for a day. A place that would be welcoming to our friends and family, where everyone can talk years later about what a great time they had.
We went and looked at the usual venues, but the problem we kept running into was that the usual venues treat you like the usual newly engaged couple. They are working off a script and we wanted something different, something new and fresh.
There were two hotels that were under construction when we initially visited them, but there was one major difference between the two…the service. Even with the ballroom incomplete and having only artist renderings to go by, we both knew that the SLS was the place for us.
The SLS was beyond welcoming, and their events coordinator, Dana Cohen, was what sealed it for us. Dana has the ability to take all the stress out of the equation and with her relaxed approach we took a huge sigh of relief and replaced that stress with excitement.
The venue was absolutely stunning, people still talk to us about the short-ribs, and we could not have planned it any better. Perfect moments are a rare thing, and that day had quite a few of them.
