Hello, Again! Need Advice

Hi Ladies,

I was on the boards for a little while early this year, but due to the postponement of my wedding had to initially reschedule to 2013.  My fi is in the army and he was scheduled to leave this year for Afghanistan.  Luckily, he was sent to Germany for only 1 month and his Afghanistan deployment has been rescheduled.

Over Thanksgiving, we decided that we could get married sooner and have now set September 3 as our wedding date! Yay!  It is Labor Day weekend....do any of you forsee an issue having a wedding on a holiday weekend?

All insight would be greatly appreciated :)  thanks!

My wedding was a Sunday wedding on Memorial weekend.  It was ideal for me because none of my guests had to miss work if they need to travel and I was in school so I didn't miss any class (I had to fly to FL for the wedding).  A lot of people make standing holiday plans so there's a chance that some may have to decline.  I suggest sending out STDs in March just to give guests a heads up.

I'm September 4, 2011 (the Sunday of Memorial Weekend) so that people have that extra time to travel...  Plus having the wedding on a Sunday has brought prices down A LOT!

We married on Halloween, but our planner advised us to send out STDs earlier than usual to make sure people didn't make other plans. We also had a lot of people coming from overseas and they appreciated the extra headsup for travel plans. I believe we sent them out 7 months ahead and kept people updated with a e-mailing list.
