Nails in Burbank/San Fernando Valley/Santa Clarita area? And etiquette?

Has anyone had a mani/pedi day for the girls the day before the wedding?  I was thinking of having my bridesmaids meet me for a mani/pedi before the rehearsal the day before the wedding.  Any recommendations of where to go in the Burbank/San Fernando Valley/Santa Clarita area?

And what is the etiquette for such an event?  Did you pay for everyone?  Did everyone think they would pay for themselves?  About how much did it cost you if you paid for everyone (and what did they get done)?

I’ve been thinking of asking everyone to meet for a lunch/mani/pedi day in lieu of a bachelorette (I’m not really one for nights on the town).  I’d like to pay for everyone’s mani/pedi but I’m not sure what that would really set me back.  And I’m kind of afraid I’ll end up paying for 5 sets of gel/acrylic nails and pedicures, when I can’t really afford all that.

While I haven't done this as a bride, I was the manager at a spa and we had wedding parties in once every few months. Generally, the bride paid for the nails (as they were requiring them to be done for the wedding). You would know your friends better, if they could see it as a "day out" and have the money to do their nails, then they may pay for it themselves.

We only did natural nails, but a mani/pedi at our place cost $100 before gratuity, so that would run you upwards of five hundred dollars. I'm sure you can find somewhere that isn't bad that would do about 30 a person and still get good, clean work done.

I go to Polished, it's in the Empire Center in Burbank near Target.  They have an Outback and Olive Garden right next to the nail salon so that could be an option for lunch.  I don't remember the prices of the mani/pedi but you can look it up online.  It's really up to you if you want to pay for them.  If you choose not to pay then be prepared for some to say they can't make do it due to funds.

We went to Burke-Williams (lots of locations, but we did Sherman Oaks). We got to relax in the spa, then we each got a mani/pedi. They were pricey, about $90 each person, plus tip, but it's a day spa, so that's why. Then I took them to lunch at El Torito. I paid for everyone, but I only had 2 BMs, and I offered.

So maybe my best bet would be to contact the salon owner ahead of time and let them know what I'd like to pay for (just a basic mani/pedi).  This way the "extras" aren't offered?  And if they want to upgrade to acrylic/gel/french tips/flowers/etc, the manicurist will tell them it's extra?

I know sometimes when I get my nails done myself, I don't ask how much the upgrades are and they don't volunteer the price information or I get a vague answer until the bill actually arrives at the end.
