Suggestions - Restaurant reception in Santa Barbara

Hi ladies,

I'm looking to host a reception of 100-120 people in Santa Barbara. I would really like to have it at a restaurant. My budget is roughly $35/person. Do you know of any places that could accommodate that? I'm not from that area, so any tips - even just great restaurants you love up there - you have I would appreciate so much!

    start googling my friend!
All the usual suspects will have info on locations in SB like Herecomestheguide.com and weddingcompass.com, but you'll also find websites like mysantabarbarawedding.com.

This is either a good or bad thing, but Santa Barbara is not that big, esp the down town area, so at least you won't have troll through a hundred websites.
Its also pricey, as Im sure youre well aware at this point, so I would consider venturing more inland towars Goleta, still sort of SB, but youll have a few more options there and maybe more reasonable priced.

    Good Luck!

I dont know how my sister did it but she did her wedding at Santa Barbara Historical Society, and got buffet style bbq. It was great. She is SOOOOOO smart with money, and did about 125 people. I am not sure of her price per person but, check it out.

The Canary hotel has a great events coordinator.  The coordinator and Chef are more than happy to work with your budget. They also have a rooftop bar. Their location rental prices are great during the off-season. Only downside is that there's a view of the Amtrak station. The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History is also another beautiful location if you wanted an outdoor venue.

Hey- I'm getting married in Santa barbara and we did a lot of research before settling on a location (we're doing a caterer now so its different from what you're looking for) but initially we were planning on doing a restauraunt.

The cheapest I found, and a really really sweet location, is a restaurant called Stella Mare's. I think they can do 100+ guests but you should definitely check them out.

The Canary tends to be very pricey but they have very good reviews.

There's also the Boathouse which, last I talked to them, can accomodate 80, but you might want to see if they have a space for a larger group.

    good luck!
