This may be a general marriage license question. Bear with my ignorance, if that's the case.
My fiance and I would like a friend of ours to officiate the wedding and it would send big, unmanageable ripples through the wedding planning if we can't make it happen.
So, when I looked into getting the DFTD paperwork, I noticed that one of the requirements is that bride or groom be residents of the county where the certificate/license are issued. We live in Los Angeles but the wedding is in Orange County.
Does it matter what county your certificate and license are issued in vs. where you're actually married? I'm assuming it just has to remain in California but I don't know! Help!
