Marriage License

Before today I was 100% sure I knew the answer to this, but now that we are going to get our marriage license today I'm of course second guessing myself... Do we get our license from county we reside in, or the county the ceremony will take place? Thanks!

    You get it in the county that you live in.  If you are from out of state then you get it in the county in which you will be married.

    So if I live in Summit County and FI lives in Stark County, but we're getting married in Stark County, we need a Stark County marriage license. Right?

    "In the State of Ohio, the application for a marriage license may be made in the county of either applicant. If neither applicant is a resident of Ohio, the application must be made in the county in which the ceremony is performed."So if you and your FI live in different counties in Ohio, you can get your marriage license in either county. In cuyahoga county, both bride and groom must be present in order to obtain the license.
