Nancy-I really like #2! Not cheesy at all.

I'm not opposed to fun ones, especially if they have some sort of meaning. I just don't want the bride dragging groom away from something or other, or anything that makes wedding day seem like a joke, like: 1006-7143-ball-chain-cake-topper_thumb.jpg  or cell phone bride and groom.jpg (not that either are what FI wants, just as an example!)

Thanks, Eliz.  That cell phone one is horrible!  The one you like is really sweet.  Do you know what kind of funny one you're looking for?  Have you seen the one of the Bride squeezing the groom's toosh?

I'm going back and forth on this as well.  Originally, I had wanted to have an "XO" topper, but the silver monogram letters are bigger than I want and I think are too big for the size cake we'll have since it'll only be about 60 people.  I also really like the idea of just having the flowers on top since that is the cake that I fell in love with.  I thought about getting smaller wooden letter from Michaels and painting them, but I really haven't decided yet.  Here's the kind of cake I want:

We picked up silver letters for our initials at ac moore's pretty cheap so we are using those.

We are both geeks... so we had a black metal made from an Etsy seller..it looks huge in this pic but its actually small... we're having a very small round cake for the 9 total people that will be at the wedding

My FI loves his motorcycles and I love riding with him, so we are going for the fun side of things...

this is it but the hair of the bride and the grooma swell as the groom's facial hair will be custom to look like us.

I think we will probably just end up with lots of flowers on our cake....but our tasting is this Thursday, so we will be talking to our baker in more depth then about design, colors, etc....we will make our final decision after that!

Here's what I want the cake design to look like (but with red/purple/magenta on the design) Each layer will have a gold ribbon at the base like the picture but my cake has round layers instead.
