Eateries on the East Side

Two questions for the East side ladies.-FI and I will be touring Manakiki with both sets of our parents in August and we plan to head to dinner afterwards. Does anyone have a favorite restuarant in Willoughby or nearby?-Other question has to do with our rehearsal dinner. In a nutshell our in laws are planning this event and a friend of theirs owns a catering business that will cater the RD. Does anyone know of facilities on the east side near Willoughby Hills where we can hold the rehearsal dinner (probably 45 people max)? I have looked at the Holden Arboretum, but their website says that we cannot bring in our own caterer there. I will have to make a phone call about that. I know this sounds like super early planning, but the FIL's caterer friend wants to pencil us in on his calendar now:)

Not sure if this is too far west, but Shaker Lakes (in Shaker Heights) has a nature center with rooms you can rent and bring in your own food.  I helped my roommate find it for her RD this November.  The view would be really nice if you don't mind a little extra drive from the hotel!

I LOVE the Willoughby Brewing Company or Gavi's for dinner. They are right in downtown Willoughby off Glenn Avenue. Not sure on a plce to bring your own caterer...I'll think on it and if I come up with anything, let you know!

Fisher's Tavern is on SOM Ctr. Road in Mayfield Heights....just a few miles up the road.  Mario Fazios is on Route 6 and 91....even closer.  For the rehearsal dinner, do you know anyone who lives in an apartment/condo that has a party room that is rented out?

Jackie, I've heard good things about Oliver Twist in downtown Willoughby.  http://www.olivor-twist.com/about.html.Mayfield Hts and Willoughby Hills have community centers w/ rooms you can rent out.   Not sure what kind of theme or idea you or the FILs are going for but, maybe these would work.  http://www.mayfieldheights.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3&Itemid=98&date=2007-10-01 & http://www.willoughbyhills-oh.gov/community_center.htm

Mayfield Village's community center would work. My family has had many parties there (communions, baby showers, etc). I don't like Fisher's Tavern. Mario Fazios is delicious! Good luck :)

I second Willoughby Brewing and Oliver Twist. Both places have great food and a fun atmosphere!!!I know the Willowick Community Center allows you to bring in your own food. Also, the Lakefront Lodge in Willowick allows you to bring in your own food, plus there is a nice park and great views of the lake! http://www.lakemetroparks.com/select-park/lakefront.shtml

Lure is nice for seafood. Lots of outdoor seating, indoor and outdoor bars, menu also has meats and sushi. Fun atmosphere and cheap valet. Many dinner options starting under $20. You'll want reservations if visiting on the weekend and possibly will want to call ahead mid-week, too.

If your family is into Italian. . . . I always rec Davatino's or Mama Robertos. Awesome awesome food. If you want to go a little more West afterwards. . . Arrabiata's is a little place on Mayfield Road just east of Richmond.
