DIY Paper supplies

I'm planning a trip to Hollo's this weekend and being that it's not very close to home I'd like to make this my only trip :).  So any tips?  Where there any must have things you used for your paper projects?  Any items you saw there you couldn't find elsewhere?I'll need supplies to make: Fan programs, Favor tags, menus, bar menus, Table numbers, Memorial table sign, OOT bag cards, and other misc paper things.  TIA!

Bring a friend!  I found the store to be VERY overwhelming!

If you want any metallics, I would order from Anchor Paper online.  Hollo's was great for basic colors but their gold paper was way expensive!  Anchor paper has great deals! My crazy craft friends say to only buy paper at Hollo's and to get ribbon and other supplies at either Jo Anne's or Pat Catans.  If you need large sized paper at all, these are these booklets right near the door in the front that are really great.  Also, if you are using a printer on things, consider not getting textured paper.  I got textured envelopes from them for the save the dates and ink rubbed off!  I made sure not to do that for the invites and the printer worked great.  HTH!

The only problem I had was that I got some cardstock that was more than 100# weight.  It doesn't go through most printers.  So, if you're planning on printing on them, stick to something around 80# I think.

Irene is very helpful (she is one of the owners - she works specifically with wedding invitation).  I had no idea what I wanted and she spent a good amount of time with my sister and I.  I did not feel rushed at all - and felt that she truly cared.

agree with the other girls who said it's overwhelming. i didn't think i would be overwhelmed in there, but i kinda was, and I ended up spending a LOT longer than I planned. i also agree with the suggestion to consider ordering through anchor paper. i went to hollo's as a preliminary run, and i'm glad that i did, because it was nice to see what 80# paper felt like, the different metallics, etc. but when it came down to it, anchor paper's prices were much better, especially for metallics, and maybe even for reg paper too. since you are making so many things (go you!) i would strongly consider AP. tom is extremely helpful, and you can even pay a slightly extra fee to have things cut to size. the website is kinda confusing, but he's great at making suggestions, etc. i ordered samples a few times before i placed the big order. if you want to get everything from hollo's, make a detailed list before you go. figure out how much you'll need for each individual project, and then add in some extra paper for mistakes, etc. that inevitably happen. if you think you might want to order through AP, i would still go to hollo's, unless you feel pretty comfortable with paper to begin with, and maybe write down names of colors, types you like, and then ask tom if they have the exact same paper, or maybe something similar. sorry for the novel! good luck!!

I love Hollo's! My only tip is to get extra of everything you're buying. The never have the same exact thing when you go back. They have great stuff.. you just have to hunt for it! Have fun!
