What to do next?

Hi Ladies! I'm planning my wedding for 11/11/11 i have the reception venue booked and the church. I've started looking/asking around for photographer and DJ's. Any ideas about what else i should be looking into right now now?

Congrats on getting all of that done!  Smile

If you are going to do save the dates, you could start looking for those now. I just got engaged and that's the first thing I am looking for.   If you know what flowers and look you'll want, you could also start looking for a florist.

I got married 10/10/10. I booked the venues and photographer a year out. I also did a hotel block and got my STDs printed with hotel and airport information. I booked transportation (limo and shuttle) about 7 months out, Cake baker, DJ and musicians about 6 months out, and florist about 3 months out. I ordered invitations 5 months out because I had to send my envelopes to the calligrapher.

I got my dress a year before the wedding, it came in 3 months later, and I started alterations 6 weeks before the wedding.

Hi there!  Yeah, that's bound to be a very popular date, so I'd book all the vendors you can early.  If you'd like a couple of recommencations, check out my photographer & DJ.

    DJ:  SoCal-DJ (www.socal-dj.com)
    Photographer: SoCalSunshine Productions (www.socalsunshine.com)

Hope that helps!  This board is incredibly helpful, so come back often!

try to remember that every vendor is going to try to lock you down so that their income is secure. There are plenty of people out of work or working 1/2 time due to the economy in Southern California. Sure 11/11/11 is a trendy date but keep your eyes open for opportunities. Splurge in areas that are your focus and then be frugal in other areas. :)

Congratulations, I am also getting married on 11/11/11 in Boston, MA.  I've been engaged since April of this year, so I had a head start on the planning - and with getting married 3000 miles away I felt I had to start early as it's a bit more of a challenge planning and putting together the wedding details from across the country.  But now that I have all of this done, I can relax a bit and enjoy this wonderful time with my Fiance.  I have heard from other brides that due to the date's growing popularity things are booking up rather quickly.  Here are the things that I have checked off my list:
-Venue (Ceremony & Reception) We have many things folded into this including the cake so that's another thing that's taken care of.
    -DJ
    -Photographer
    -Videographer
-Photo Booth (we are doing this for our favors as well as our guestbook)
    -Wedding Dress
    -Bridesmaid Dresses ordered
    -Makeup
-Hair - need to firm up the appointment and decide on time
-Save the Date's - I will be sending these out by the end of this month - Before the end of the year holidays.

    Good luck with your planning!
