Catering for 50

Hi gals. Is it possible to cater our 50-guest wedding for $2000 or less?

Depending on what area you're in, and what kind of food and service you want, I'd say there's a chance. Might be a little tough, though.

I hosted a brunch party a couple of months ago for 50 people and it came out to about 1500. But I'm not sure if my catering company is low or high compared to some others.

Just call a few caterers in your area and ask. In my experience, they're always helpful in letting you know whether your budget meets what they charge.

    Good luck!

You can go with a chain (Maggianos, even Chipotle or Subway) or some kind of alternative restaurant, like an Indian restaurant or BBQ place. They usually have pretty low pp costs. You're looking at $40/person, so that's not too bad. Does that price include alcohol? If you can bring in your own alcohol (maybe 2 kegs, even 1.5 kegs, and a case or two of wine) you'll save a lot. You can also have an afternoon reception with finger foods rather than a full meal. Good luck!

I too was going to say Wood Ranch, they are $15.50 for salad, tri tip, chicken breast, 2 sides and garlic rolls. 100 people is $1550.

Thats what we are planning on having, I love their food and the servings are large and its affordable.

Wow, using a popular restuarant is a great.  The prices will likely be less painful, and folks will recognize the food. You all are a great help, thanks.

I definitely agree with going through a restaurant. My cousin used Maria's Italian Kitchen for her wedding. It was great!

I'm working on a tv show and we are wanting to help a couple with their reception. We would like to shoot a wedding the last week in April 2011 so it's very soon. If you are interested in having help with your budget, give me a call at 323-799-2524.

    Thanks,

We are going with a Mexican restaurant called Cacao in Eagle rock.  Our wedding isn't until May but we got an EXCELLENT price the food is AMAZING (and we tried a bunch of Mexican restaurants).  I'm certain you could get them for way less then $2000 for you wedding of 50.  So far they have been super nice and easy to work with.  They'll have a tasting, come check out the site, everything a regular caterer would do but I think better...and your food won't all taste the same.  Good luck!!
