Hi Everyone,Do you guys have a rough estimate of what to expect to pay for photography?  Having good pictures is one of my priorities, and I especially love Genevive Nisly, but she is quite pricey.  Does anyone have any other reasonable recommendations?  General price ranges?Thanks so much!

Photography ranges. We paid around $4k. Worth every penny. I was crazy picky about our photography (we didn't have a videographer).I highly recommend our photographers Ted and Rachel Linczak (linczakphoto.com). They were our favorite vendor. We just got our proofs and I'm even more in love with their work (I didn't think it was possible!).You can find cheaper photographers, but I'm big on having two main photographers (not one or one +assistant). Plus I think you need to click with your photographers which we really did with ours.

When I started looking for my photographer they ranged from $600-$2000. Just depending on their name and what they offer. If they offer no prints and you can print yourself you will save a ton of money that way. I decided on Todd Carlson. www.toddhuntercarlson.com There are no wedding pics on his portfolio since he uses that for his magazine work but whenm you set up a meeting he will bring some with him. They are amazing and he was in the $750 range since I am printing my own.

Thanks for replying ladies My fiance is a little nervous with the price tag that I presented from the photag that I really love....it's almost 5K.  He thinks, "eh, how often will we really look at wedding pics?"  I guess this is kind of true, but I would really like quality pics that we can use to remember our awesome day.  That being said, if quality pics could be found at a more affordable price, I'm open to all suggestions.  I just really like this particular photographer's style.

Our photographer is Lindsey Beckwith and our package is around $3500. www.lindseybeckwith.com Lindsey is a super nice person and her work is beautiful. She was also very willing to work with our budget and create a package that worked well for us. We are very excited to work with her!I understand that the price tag of photographers can be intimidating, but try to find someone whose style you love and who has a lot of experience with (esp with weddings). I am a photographer myself so choosing this vendor was tough! I was not willing to choose someone  just because they were inexpensive. That said I think you can find someone who does similar style work and quality as Genevieve Nisly for a bit less money. Just my 2 cents:)

We are using Catherine McKinley. She has an extremely wide range of price packages, but she also offers the option of creating your own. We're paying a little over $2000. Her work is gorgeous, she is sweet and easy to talk to, and she definitely works with you. http://www.catmckinleyphoto.com/

If you really clicked with the photographer that was $5k, and you love his work, i say go for it. I know some will say this is crazy, but we are spending $10k on our photographer. Now I booked my photographer in Columbus, and he is traveling, but in my area, the best photographers ranged from $6k-$12k, so what we are paying isn't totally crazy. it includes only what i want and no fluff like some photographers tried to add to hike up the price. We are getting all day coverage, 2 photographers, large album, 2 smaller parent albums (40 prints), engagement session, a handful of prints, and a dvd with all our proofs with the right to print. The most important thing is that the photographers style is what i want. A very artistic and candid approach. I also clicked with him and the other photographer and trust that they will do a wonderful job with very little instruction. I trust that he will capture the day and moments, not staged productions. Photography is the most important thing to me and I had to cut back in some other areas but in the end I know I made the right decision.

Set up a few meetings and see who you click with. Another amazing dual photographer team is Noble Images - Jason and Danielle.  They are (don't quote me) @$3K+ and have been photographer of the year on Fox hot list in 2007 and 3rd in 2008.

Hi!  If you like Genevive, I would recommend Mark Davidson--www.mark-davidson.com his style is similar  and comes with a little lower price tag.  I met with him and loved him (photography is one of my top priorities!) but he booked with someone else before I was able to book.  I think his price is on his site and has gone up just a little bit since I looked at him last year.  We wound up with Inlux, www.inluxcreative.com and I super puffy heart Jarred and Heather--you get both of them to shoot and they are extremely responsive which was important to me.  HTH!!!

My fiance and I went with Corey Ann and we are so happy with everything so far. We met with several photographers and I'd say that $2,500-$5,000 was the average price range for the packages we were looking at.

I just booked Rodriguez Photography for 2500. I think for what I'm getting, it's a great price and I feel very confident that the pictures will be amazing. He was the photographer at a friend's wedding and they loved him. good luck!

im using Imagen and im SO excited! just met her today and got our estimate.... for me pictures and video are VERY important! plus i love their style! for both of the services its a little over 7,000 ( a lot but well worth it)

I am using a newer photog Mark Kaminoski - its 950 for 2 photogs, all day coverage, and a storybook album (and all pics on a cd and rights to all the pics) like i said, he is new but check out his blog (link in bio)

We are also going with Imagen Photography. They are our favorite vendor! There prices have gone up since we booked with them, so I can't tell you current prices, but they are definitely worth checking out!

our photographer was michelle hamlin, amazing, amazing, amazing vendor and super budget friendly.  for $1,500 we got: 2 photographers all day (10+hours)all of my 2,200 pictures on discs plus the rights to every single oneonline digital editing500 proofs2 11x14's, 10 8x10's, and 12 5x7 prints12x12 24 page Renaissance (coffee table) style albumEngagement session with rights to all 500 pictures as well as a digital proof bookmichelle was a true joy to work with and next to my DOC, she was my most complimented vendor, everybody loved her personality and she took every last one of my 300 "must have" pictures and then some.  i also had all of my pictures within two weeks of my wedding day.the only thing you don't get with her is the online viewing of your pictures and an online blog to see them on.  quality is the same and she totally captured the moments of our day just like any other $4,000 photographer would have done, so the lack of online viewing was a worthy tradeoff for me, considering it saved us $2,500 and the pictures are just as good :)HTH!

I highly recommend Rich Pappas with Dreamcatcher Studios. He was amazing to work with. I do events planning for a living and work with many photographers. He is one of the best I have worked with. Rich cost about $3500, but that includes CDs with all the photos as well as a binder with all prints of the photos. He then creates a coffee table album with the photos you select. I thought he was amazing to work with before, during and after the wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Rich.

Went with Imagen!  I go to their website occasionally and look at the pics/videos because I just can't wait for them to capture our day!

We are going with Elizabeth Pruitt Photography. Her style is exactly what I wanted with a very artistic flair. Our photography was around $3400 for coverage, an album, and two parent albums, which from my research seems to be competitively priced for the Cleveland market.
