santa barbara/malibu venue???

Hi,

 We are looking to find an affordable venue for our ceremony and reception... We have been looking at house rentals/beach locations/vineyards, etc... Everything is so pricey!  Any ideas on some beautiful location spots?? We wanted to try and stay in the Malibu/Santa Barbara areas since it is closer to where we live... Thank you!

I went to a wedding reception at the Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara.  It was a beautiful rooftop reception that overlooked downtown SB.  I'm not sure how expensive it was but it's worth checking out.  They had their ceremony at a ranch on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

The Santa Barbara Double Tree seemed somewhat reasonable, especially if you are willing to book on a Friday or Sunday. They do beach ceremonies but also have ceremonies on the hotel grounds. We met with Chuck for a tour. He was friendly and answered all of our questions. If we were still planning on a beach wedding this is the venue I would have chosen. Good luck!

We are having our wedding at the SUnset Restaurant in Malibu.  It is quant and right on the beach.  Some other locations we checked out were:  Rincon Beach club (Carpinteria), malibu West Beach Club, & Embassy Suites in Oxnard (which has it's own small private beach area for not a bad price at all).  Also Casa del Mar in Santa Monica looked lovely too.

Have you looked at Chase Palm Park or Cabrillo Pavillion in Santa Barbara?  City owned, so they are pretty economical for SB.

I was recently at a wedding held at the Adamson House in Malibu. This wedding was beautiful and was as close as you can get to the sand without having sand on the actual grounds. I would look into this ASAP, as my friends did book 2 years in advance... good luck!
