HELP: ANYONE GETTING MARRIED OUTSIDE AT THE VICTORIAN?

I am getting married in three weeks at the Victorian in Santa Monica, outstide on the lawn. I knew noise would be an issue when we chose it, but I am starting to panic about it. Everyone says a tent wall is the way to go but I don't want it to look hideous. Any ideas about how to decorate it? Fabric swath? It has to be 9 feet high though... flowers? I dont know...  any advice from those who might have attended a wedding there or who are planning one would be greatly appreciated!

I am also a Victorian bride. YAY!! Although we had our ceremony inside so I don't know that I can be of any help to you, but why don't you ask your florist? If they've done a wedding there before, they might be able to offer some suggestions. The one we used (Accent on Design) was a recommended vendor by The Victorian and she was really invaluable at offering suggestions based on her knowledge of the venue. Who'se your coordinator? I wonder if they might have any photos of previous weddings where they've done the ceremony outside to show you how it would look with whatever they recommend.
It's such a beautiful location.....try not to panic too much...your wedding will be wonderful.

Thank you so much! Those are great ideas!!

BTW, how many people did you have at your wedding? I am also panicking because we have 195 which seems like A LOT for the place but they are assuring me that anything under 210 is fine... any thoughts?

    Thanks again for the reply!

We only had about 125. But,with the except of cocktails, we did everything inside. But if you're doing your ceremony outside, you can have your dance floor upstairs and that would give you a little more room for some tables downstairs. If you want music during dinner, have your dj in the bar area during dinner, then they can move upstairs. Are you doing sit down dinner or buffet?
