Hi Ladies,

I had to create a new account because I forgot my old password.

Anyway, lookign for some photographers for our late 2011 wedding.

What are average prices for photographers? I am new to LA and just curious as to what the average price is. We have budgeted $5k for wedding photography but prepared to spend up to 7k. Realistic?

    Definitely realistic. You can get a nice package from a good photographer for 5k (or less).

    We used and loved Hazelnut Photography. We paid well under your budget, but we did book her in 2009, so I'm not sure what her prices are now.

    I totally agree with the post above. Jordana Hazel of Hazelnut Photography is amazing. We were so thrilled with all of our pictures and she is the nicest person! I think her lowest package might start at around $3000 these days, so she is well within your budget.

    Totally reasonable. I only paid $2k, but that's because we went with shooting and a disc of hi-res pictures, rather than doing an album through our photographer. I used Kristine Ambrose and we adored her.

    I went with ImagesByAaron.   Check out ImagesByAaron.com  

    I would definitely call and set up an appointment. You will fall in love with this guy the second you meet him.  We got a wonderful package deal because he shot our wedding and I did a "trash the dress" shoot the following day.  He made me feel like a super model, and he felt more like a guest at our wedding than an employee. Your budget is absolutely reasonable.

    The photographer that I'm using for my wedding in March and she did my engagment photos too was Felicia Perry Photography.
    She does amazingg work and is an absolute dream to work with!! She's also really affordable too!!!
    You should totally check her out bec even though we took our engagement photos months ago, I'm still ogling and totally in love with them :))

    I recommend www.AmandaPatrice.com. We hired Amanda for our wedding, and so far I am super happy. Our package includes epics, wedding, dvd of epics & wedding, album, and $300 print credit tobe used toward prints, Save the Date, thank you cards, gallery wraps, etc. We're paying $2500 for everything! She is super nice, and responds quickly via phone and email. I'm really happy with our e pics!
