Hola! I am new to the board. I also didn't even know it existed. I am Brazilian/European and my FI is from Mexico City. We are planning a wedding for October 16, 2010. Our theme for the wedding is "Old World Mexico Meets Modern Day Elegance". It will take place in the Los Angeles area. The ceremony will be at a mission style Catholic Church followed by the reception which will be at a private country club called "Hacienda Golf Club". Both venues work very well with our theme. We are also planninig on 120 guests, adults only. I am so excited that we have booked the two major things. I hope to get to know you all better. I've seen some of your planning bios and may I say they look great! Happy planning to all of you. Hasta luego :)

    Welcome to the board! Very few people know about this board but I'm so glad it got created. Our date is October 30, 2010...two weeks after yours! We also have a Catholic church picked out for the ceremony then the reception is going to be downtown in an historic hotel. Have you picked out your colors yet?

    Thank you MsSunshine. We are so happy with the place. We looked at soooo many venues before we found it. Most people in our area have not heard of it It was just opened to the public last year after being completely private since 1920. No, we don't have our colors yet. Initially I was thinking vendella, champagne and copper. My FI is all about color though and wasn't too fond of the idea. Now that we've developed a theme we are leaning more toward the deeper, jewel tones. I know I don't care for a cliche "fall decor" so we are still deciding. How about you?

    Welcome HEA123!  I loved your bio!  Good luck with all of the planning!  My FI and I are getting married next month so I will be sure to share all of the photos with you girls for ideas.
