Cuban Wedding... in the US!

Hello beautiful brides!

I'm still enjoying the bliss that comes along with being newly engaged!  Like most of you, I've been planning and imagining my wedding since I was five!  I'm mixed and very in (Puerto Rican, Black, and White) and my FI is from Cuba.  I always imagined my wedding day to be filled with culture and all the jazzy things that go along with it.

FI's family won a lottery to leave Cuba but they had to leave everything they had behind.  They haven't been back since.  Because I love my FI's family so much and don't have a big family or parents; I thought it would have been a great idea to get married in Cuba,  however....  I just learned that I am not able to go to Cuba until I'm legally married, and even then - still cannot have a wedding ceremony in Cuba because of the Embargo.

I'm a little crushed because my FI and I were really, really hoping to exchange our Vows in Cuba with our family, but we're not out of the dark completely!

We live in the Tampa Bay, where there's Cuban history and many options to bring the Cuban culture into our wedding day and ceremony.

I'm reaching out to you ladies for ideas, suggestions, thoughts and opinions.    Ybor City offers a host of Cuban history and venues, but I've never visited any of them (yet).

We are planning a Fall wedding next year so there's lots of time to share ideas!
