Hello,
I need some help from this forum for a guy like me looking to make the perfect proposal. I bought the ring a few weeks ago and have been waiting for the perfect timing (a cousin had gotten engaged, a engagement party for another sort of threw the timing off) but I think sometime in the next few weeks is the perfect time.
I have a couple of ideas I wanted to run by everyone here to get some input.
1) Bring her to a park for a quiet picnic. We went on vacation last month and she was looking forward to flying a kite we had bought - unfortunately we never got around to it, but I was thinking I could write on the bottom of the kite 'will you marry me?' and as we're flying it and enjoying our picnic being like 'hey what is that on the bottom of the kite?' and as she reels it in to see it I get down on one knee. This one seems to be the most romantic but depending on the weather could really screw me over - it has to be warm enough to enjoy a nice picnic (I'm in the northeast) but windy enough to fly a kite. I'm running out of time on this one.
2) Roller coaster proposal - we both love adventures - from a safari trip in Africa we took a few years back to the scooba endeavours we plan to take in the future, I thought this would be a cool and cheesy way to propose. The only thing about this is it seems like it could lose it's intimacy since we'll both be strapped into the seats. The plus side of this is we would have a crazy roller coaster picture right after she hopefully says yes and I could easily use the roller coaster's metaphoric characteristics to describe the ups and downs of our lives and relationship.
3) Fortune cookie proposal - I saw this one and laughed out loud because it's so damn funny. Not really sure how to run this around but I guess we would go out to an asian fusion type place and finish the dinner with a fortune cookie. Seems fun and playful which I like.
4) Crazy hotel rose petal everywhere type thing - I've read a couple of online stories about how the couple checked into a room and had it set up to where the bags would be moved to a honeymoon suite or whatever with rose petals and candles and the whole nine yards - we could go to a casino resort type place, have a nice dinner/night out and finish the night off with a surprise.
Those are the main 4 - I'm not trying to go crazy or anything but definitely want this to be an experience to remember forever. I like the idea of a daytime proposal so we could go out and celebrate the rest of the day/weekend but that's not a must have. I've also saw some that involved zoo/aquarium proposals but I can't seem to find any place willing to accommodate anything involving animals or tanks or private tours or anything so if anyone knows someone that'd be an option.
Let me know what you think - I think they all seem good, but a woman's (or man with experience) perspective is always appreciated.
Cheers!
