Hey ladies! I'm a long time lurker and had to post what happened to me today, tell me if I'm nuts! Fiance and I are having my ring custom made, it should be done this week. So the jeweler called to have us bring in the loose diamonds and I drove down to the store after work today to drop them off. The lady we've been working with wasn't there in the evening, so I was going to leave them with another employee of the jewelry store that I hadn't met before. I hand them over and she says 'okay thanks'...I paused for a second and asked if I would get a receipt or anything for dropping them off, and she says, (in the snottiest voice) 'no...most people trust us' What??? If someone deposited $5000 in the bank, they'd want a receipt, and when you hand over thousands of dollars worth of diamonds, wouldn't you expect some kind of receipt? Am I crazy rude for wanting a receipt and insinuating that I didn't trust her? Opinions needed!
