He just proposed last monday night! We took a vacation from our lives in Colorado to go to his home in Minnesota for his brothers wedding. During the wedding no one would stop harrassing him for when he was gonna pop the question and how everyone was excited to come out to Colorado for our wedding. The Monday after the wedding we took our alone vacation up to Duluth (which is BEAUTIFUL, right on the shore of Lake Superior). We spent the day doing touristy things like Gooseberry Falls and Betty's Pies. That night he told me to get dressed up and that he would be back later. He came back and got ready himself. We went to dinner down in Canal Park which was where we were staying. The perfect meal together, except maybe a leeetle too much garlic in the food. He told me that he wanted to celebrate our year anniversary on our vacation so we had a bottle of wine and then took a walk. We walked acrossed the raise bridge and then back, and then down to the lighthouse, and then back....down on the shore and then back to the board walk. Finally I spoke up to say that I was getting cold because it had been drizzling the whole time. Where he said "let's just walk down here really quick". He told me to take a picture of the landmark's story board, and when I finished and turned around he was down on one knee.
I began to laugh (I crack up when I'm nervous or excited) which threw him off, and it was pretty much a giggly blur. What I did hear was "will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" and of course my answer was "YES!". An old couple that saw the whole thing took pictures of us afterwards and when we got back to the room he had champagne waiting for us!
