Hi all! I formerly went under the Username "Kris&Sean" but it's such an old account and won't let me use most of the new profile features, so I created this one and am in the process of deleting the old one.
I've been a "Knottie" for a few years now (joined up when Zales, my old employer, did a promotion with The Knot) and this is my first time on the message boards. My boyfriend of 9 years just popped the question a week and a half ago! I am so excited to begin planning our dream wedding, but am trying to take it slow and just enjoy being engaged (it's so hard, especially with all those tempting wedding gown photos). I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you as we exchange stories and advice!
The Proposal:
Last Friday, my office closed early. I got a call from my boyfriend, asking me if I could wait around for a bit since his parents were going to be in the city and wanted to see me. I said fine...and ended up waiting in my office for another 2.5 hours! Needless to say, I was pretty irritated with him. He finally calls me again and tells me that his parents are walking around Central Park and that he is just going to come and wait with me at my office, where they will meet us in a short while. So he comes upstairs and is acting all nervous and twitchy, which is something that should have tipped me off but I was too busy being annoyed at him. So he calls his mom to "see where they are" and finds out that they are outside my office building. He then says that we should try to spot them from the window. At this point, all I want to do is leave, so I argue with him a bit, asking why we can't just go down to meet them. He pulls me to the big window facing the street and has me peek out. When I look outside, his parents, my mom and stepdad, his aunt and brother, and some of our friends are on the street holding up a huge banner that says, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" I immediately burst into tears and he got down on one knee and pulled out an absolutely GORGEOUS ring (from Zales...my old manager would be so proud...hehe). He asked me to marry him, and I said yes(!!), but then he asked me if I was sure, so of course I had to be a smart ass and say "nope, but I'll take the ring anyway".

It was the most amazing moment of my life (so far)!
"Let me not to he marriage of true minds admit impediments
Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no! It is an ever fixed mark that looks on tempests
And is never shaken."
