We are have a long engagment because I want to finish school and build our house. By the time we get married we will have been engaged over 2 years. When should we take engagment photos?

    Technically the only pre-requisite is having booked your photographer. I can't tell from your post if you have actually set a date or just know a general timeframe. Obviously, you need to set the date before booking a photographer/doing engagement pics.

    However, I would probably wait until you were 6 months to a year from the wedding date to have e-pics taken.

    We took ours a few months ago and we're 1 year and 2 months out still.  I wanted them for DIY projects and whatnot though.  I think it's a personal preference, whenever is fine.
