Hello! My name is Hannah and I just wanted share my recent engagement story. I'll try not to make it too long.
On this past Tuesday night I stopped by my boyfriend's house to pick something up, and there was this beautiful silent lightning storm going on in the clouds. We sat on his back porch just holding hands, talking about the sky, how in love we are, our first date, etc. It was extremely romantic. There was such intense love between us in that moment. I could tell there was something on his mind; he had planned to "plan" the proposal, some grand romantic gesture. He knew I thought it might be on his mind and asked me what I wanted him to do. I told him I wanted him to listen to his heart. We sat quietly and it started to sprinkle. He asked if I wanted to go inside, but I said I didn't mind; I have always loved rain. I told him I even danced out in the rain in my bathing suit when I was little. So we sat a while longer. Then he said he was going inside for a minute. I stood up and walked out into the yard, and it started pouring. I started to cry and smile, thinking this could be the most perfect moment in my life. When he came back out he apologized, he hadn't known it had started pouring and asked if I wanted to go back inside. I said no and pulled him into the yard with me. We stood smiling and he asked me if I would marr him, holding out the ring. I giggled, cried, and shook my head "no". He said, "no? you won't?". I laughed and told him he had to get down on one knee, and he laughed and did, then asked me again. I said yes, and he put the ring on my finger. Then we kissed and hugged in the pouring rain.
It was absolutely perfect.
