freaking out - help w/reception location

To make a long story short, our guest list got out of control which made our budget sky-rocket which made my dear father nearly pass out. Our guest list is now in the process of being cut down. This means that we might potentially have to change our reception location ---- our current place (Grand Hall at St. Vlad's) won't take less than 200 people and I'd like to get the guest list closer to 180.I don't even know where to look now... our date is June 5, 2010 and I'm afraid any decent place now is already booked. So ... reception location no more than 20 min. from Parma, preferable BYOB that will take around 180. ...sigh...Orysia

I'm doing the 100th Bomb Group. It doesn't do BYOB that I know of but they are very accomodating. We deleted things and added things to our package. We're paying like 42 a head for food, cake, linens, valet and centerpieces and 24 a head for a more expensive bar. They also have a kids meal (like 9 a head) and a tween meal that is like 15 a head. VERY nice people!

Was your current site willing to negotiate and let you slip by with 180?  A friend of mine got married at St. Vlad's and she didn't quite meet the guest requirement either, and I'm pretty sure they let it slide.

Check out Bethlen Hall of the First Hungarian Reformed Church. It's in Walton Hills. The event coordinator's name is Caroline and her number is (216)581-8979

St. Clarence Pavilion in North Olmsted is BYOB, about 1 mile from I-480, and the price per plate is very reasonable.  Ahern catering manages it for events and has pictures on their website http://www.aherncatering.com/

Another rec. for the Belarusan in Strongsville! I had my reception there and not only are they BYOB, but very reasonably priced ($32/pp, IIRC) with excellent food. Great value for the price, too.Carrie Cerino's in N. Royalton would also fit the bill for you. They are not BYOB, but their bar prices are decent.Michaud's (Strongsville) has several party rooms, which might work to your advantage. Their food is pretty standard and they are BYOB. Just be careful about add-ons. They can nickel and dime you if you aren't careful.Middleburg Hts. Rec. Center has a lovely space to rent, but you must not only supply your own alcohol, but your own caterer as well.St. Clarence is very nice and BYOB, but I think their minimum for a Sat. is 200. With some negotiation, you might be able to make it work though.Good luck!

You could also try Brennan's Party Center in Cleveland.Trust me, you have plenty of time to find a new place if that's what you end up deciding to do.  I planned an August 1st wedding after getting engaged mid-November. We jad about 8.5 months to plan and got everything we wanted.  You have just under a year - you'll be okay. Promise :)
